- Income predictability, especially as it affects cash flow
- Guaranteed income in spite of changes in workload
- ncreased revenue when providing broad-based, comprehensive care
- Encouraging patients to see either their own family physician or one associated with them as their preferred provider for primary care services
- Shared on-call coverage
- Rewards for comprehensive and preventative care
- An opportunity for improved organization and tracking of clinical information using clinical technology
2) The postulated benefits of changes to remuneration models for patients include:
- Improved access to primary care
- More coordinated and less episodic care
- An emphasis on preventative care
3) Provincial / territorial health systems are seen to benefit from:
- Improved access for their jurisdictional populations to the whole health system
- Decreased use of Emergency Departments by patients requiring non-urgent, urgent and emergent care
- Healthier populations
